what is a probiotic

what is a probiotic?..

Probiotics is a term used to living microorganisms that can give a good effect on other organisms or health / host, multiple instances on food dietary supplements containing beneficial bacteria with lactic acid bacteria (LAB) as the most common microbes used. LAB have been used in the food industry for many years because they are able to convert sugars (including lactose) and other carbohydrates into lactic acid. It not only provides a unique sour taste of fermented dairy food such as fermented milk, but also act as providers, by reducing the pH and create opportunities harmful organisms to grow less.

Probiotics are often recommended by doctors, and, more frequently, by nutritionists, after consumption of antibiotics, or as part of the treatment of candidiasis. Many probiotics are provided in natural sources such as Lactobacillus in yogurt and sauerkraut. Some claim probiotics can improve the immune system.
